TICKETS for Powderham Castle’s highly anticipated music spectacle this summer, were snapped up in just over an hour.

At 8.10am this morning, 50,000 tickets were released for BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend and just over 60 minutes later, they were all gone.

But those who missed out on getting tickets for the event, which takes place on May 28 and 29, will have another chance as the radio station will be offering tickets as part of on-air competitions.

The competitions will start from 8am on Saturdays and Sundays from April 9 right through to May 22.

The lucky ticket holders will enjoy performances from the likes of Coldplay, Ellie Goulding, The 1975, Chase And Status, Bring Me The Horizon and Jake Bugg.

With the full line-up for the flagship event to be revealed on Radio 1 over the coming weeks.
