TEIGNBRIDGE Council has been awarded more than £27,000 to look into ways to improve air quality across the district.
Specifically the money will be used to carry out research into whether low emission buses can be introduced and how to reduce the impact of emissions from freight vehicles.
Both projects are part of the authority's air quality action plan.
Four locations have been designated as air quality management areas – Bitton Park Road, Teignmouth; Iddesleigh Terrace, Dawlish; the A380 at Kingskerswell; and Newton Abbot and Kingsteignton.
