BUCKFAST-BASED adoption charity Families for Children are launching another appeal for families.
The organisation, which has placed more than 500 children with new adoptive families in the last 20 years, is hosting a series of information events to coincide with National Adoption Week in October.
A spokesman said: ‘Once again we are appealing to those who have ever thought about adoption not to hold back and possibly consider opening their hearts to an older child, sibling group or those with extra needs.
‘We are also looking for those families who may consider fostering to adopt, a new service we provide in placing babies and very young children with adoptive families.
‘There are a lot of myths still surrounding adoption and we are urging people to come and talk to us at our information sessions.’
Events will be held at the charity’s headquarters at Southgate Court, Buckfastleigh on Saturday, September 24 and Saturday, October 22 between 10am and noon.
Last year, Families for Children was rated outstanding by Ofsted inspectors.
