Teignmouth’s town centre is blooming after new hanging baskets were installed on Bank street this week adding a splash of colour to the main shopping area.

The ten new hanging basket columns have replaced existing planter poles, which had become too damaged to use due to traffic incidents and wear and tear.

As part of its commitment to sustainability, Teignmouth Town Council has invested in eco-friendly hanging baskets that require less water.

The new poles and hanging baskets were funded by an increase in the town’s portion of this year’s council tax.

Plaques on each pole will be added in the next few weeks explaining that the floral displays are funded and maintained by Teignmouth Town Council.
