THE NHS is planning to build a Health and Wellbeing Centre in the heart of Teignmouth.

They are asking local people their views on the design of this new centre.

A spokesperson for Torbay and South Devon NHS Trust said: ‘Following feedback on the original planning application on Brunswick Street and an adjacent and better site becoming available, new plans have been developed for this exciting development.

‘As a key part of the planning process the design team want to find out from local people informally what they think about the design of the new centre.

‘A website was launched todayFriday, so that people can find out more about the design and give their views. The website can be found at https://teignmouthhwbcdesignconsultation.co.uk

Local people will also be able to join a presentation at 10am on August 24 where they will be able to hear about the design from the design team and ask the team any questions about the building.

Details of how to join are on the website. In addition, they can complete the short survey on the design website, or send feedback to [email protected].

‘The new Health and Wellbeing Centre will bring together many of the clinics that local people attend with the health and wellbeing team alongside the GP practices. The aim is that, subject to planning permission and final sign off, it will open in 2024.’

To ensure the feedback can be included as part of the pre-planning process it needs to be received by September 1, 2022.

The public have been assured they will have a further opportunity to review plans and give their formal views on the building to the Council as part of the application for planning permission process.
