TWO women were injured when their cars collided head-on in Teignmouth.

Police, paramedics and firefighters attended the incident outside the resort’s community school in Exeter Road just after 6pm on Tuesday.

One of the casualties, taken by ambulance to Torbay Hospital, was trapped in her damaged Ford Galaxy.

Firefighters from the town used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove the driver’s door so the medical team could safely remove her from the vehicle.

She suffered neck, chest and shoulder injuries.

The driver of the the other car, a Ford Focus, was described at the scene as ‘walking wounded.’ She did not require hospital treatment.
