COVID case in Teignbridge showed a 45 per cent increase over the past seven days, according to the latest Government figures.
281 new people had a confirmed positive test result reported on December 31.
This means that between December 25 and 31 2021, 1,171 people had a confirmed positive test result.
This shows an increase of 45.8 per cent compared to the previous 7 days.
Healthcare in Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust:
One person with coronavirus went into hospital on December 26.
Between December 20 and 26, 11 people went into hospital with coronavirus. This shows a decrease of -38.9% compared to the previous seven days.
There were 17 patients in hospital with coronavirus on December 28.
There was one coronavirus patient in hospital bed with a mechanical ventilator on December 28.
Fortunately there were no deaths within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported on December 31.
