THERE were 289 new people in Teignbridge who had a confirmed positive test result reported on January 27.

Between January 21 and 27, 1,667 people in the district had a confirmed positive test result. This shows an increase of 23.9% compared to the previous seven days, according to the latest Government figures.

There were no deaths within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported on the same day in Teignbridge.

Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust reports seven people with coronavirus went into hospital on January 23.

There were 24 patients in hospital with coronavirus on January 25, with one of them on a mechanical ventilator.
