A NEW Devon bank planted with native trees is among the fresh security measures being planned for Mill Marsh Park in Bovey Tracey.
The hedge is part of a range of measures to be introduced by Bovey Tracey Town Council to deter travellers from the area.
Earlier this year, a group of travellers occupied the park for several days.
After they eventually vacated the area, piles of rubbish and human excrement were left behind.
The hedge will be created close to the gated entrance adjacent to the scout hut and would help prevent unauthorised access by vans and cars.
Other measures include tamper-proof locks, height barrier and bollards.
Other open spaces will also be protected.
