A PHOTOGRAPHY enthusiast holidaying in Devon is hoping locals can help him identify a group of people in a photo from an antique camera he bought.

The photo was recovered by Mark Merryweather.

Mark, 57, found the film in a Brownie Flash 620 he purchased from Old Paignton Antiques while on holiday.

‘It was a roll of Kodakcolor 2 film which was released in 1972’, said Mark.

‘I developed the film using a Caffenol developer, and used non-chemical based bath stop and fixer.

‘Out of eight potential shots, one photo emerged’, added Mark.

Mark, who lives in Berkshire, used artificial intelligence software to enhance the photo.

It appears to show two young children and an adult, likely a parent, standing near a barbecue.

‘I believe the photo could have been taken from 1972 until maybe the mid to late seventies’, said Mark.

‘The fact a Brownie Flash 620 was used is interesting, as this camera was discontinued around the late 50’s, so perhaps an older relation to them took the picture?’, added Mark.

‘I thought it would be of interest: maybe someone will recognise themselves, or perhaps other family members’, said Mark.
