A Wildlife Hit Squad has arrived in east Dartmoor this winter to tackle those 'hard to reach' places that that are the home breeding grounds for a range of Dartmoor's threatened wildlife including Fritillary butterflies.
The project is funded by Natural England, the government's conservation agency, in order to carry out vital conservation management at these small but crucially important habitats on Dartmoor.
The work will be carried out by volunteers who are being asked to assemble at East Dartmoor National Nature Reserve at yarner, Bovey Tracey, where they will then be driven to the task sites.
Working in partnership with the Dartmoor National Park Authority and Butterfly Conservation, sites have been chosen where volunteers can make a significant difference to the habitat in one day.
