The future of some jobs at Moretonhampstead Hospital is uncertain.

Catering, portering and cleaning services at the hospital – run by the Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust – are being standardised.

And it means that the drive for efficiency and protection of frontline services could see staff lose their jobs.

But there is a retraining schedule in the programme.

Consultations have been carried out by the trust, which is holding its annual meeting next week in Barnstaple.
