IN the wake of Thursday's [June 1] decision by Teignbridge Highways and Traffic Orders Committee to approve several Traffic Regulation Orders pertaining to the Queen Street proposals, Cllr Alex Hall reacts to the outcome.
'To say I am disappointed in the decision today is an understatement' Cllr Hall said.
'More to the point, not only do I feel disregarded, I found certain members of the committee to be rude.
'Some were blatantly scrolling through their phones during the meeting whilst myself and others were making our points.
'To me, this proves only one thing, they had already pre-determined their vote.
'I am angry and deeply saddened for the people of Newton Abbot, for whom the majority of, very clearly did not want this scheme' he added.
While not a member of the Committee, Cllr Hall, given he is both district and town councillor, was able to speak during the meeting - Alex's full speech can be found here.
