THE next screening for the Teignmouth Film Society at the Shaftesbury Theatre, Dawlish, is ‘Hit the Road’ (Iranian, 2021) on Friday, September 15.

The society says it is ‘definitely not your typical road movie!’

A family travel along dusty highways through stunning landscapes – a hyper-active eight-year-old, a grumpy Dad, a fretful mother, a quiet adult son and a sick dog in the back.

There is bickering and laughter – and something else unspoken.

Why are they travelling in a borrowed car? Why the fuss over the young boy having brought along his mobile phone?

Are they really travelling to the elder son’s wedding – or is there some other reason for this journey?

The screening is at Shaftesbury Theatre, 2 Brunswick Place, Dawlish, EX7 9PB, – doors open at 7pm and the film starts 8pm – running time one hour 33 minutes (English subtitles).

Entry is £5 at the door; free parking (from 6pm on-street or round the corner in Barton Hill Car Park, Barton Hill, Dawlish EX7 9QF.
