POLICE were suspicious when they spotted a woman leaving a Teignmouth supermarket dressed as a Christmas tree and carrying handfuls of cash.

Fortunately, Chris Reynard, the Waitrose manager, twigged what was going on and was able to put in a good word for photography director Eve Hazelton, who has been raising money for breast cancer charity Coppafeel by spending a whole year in fancy dress.
