CHILDREN at a Teignmouth school have been getting the healthy habit as part of a new initiative.
The Inverteign junior school pupils have been using new playground equipment to use at break times.
They are becoming increasingly aware of what makes a healthy and nutritious meal.
Flo Whitcombe, personal, social and health education teacher, said she hoped the moves would benefit the children.
She said: 'We are all only too aware of recent reports of health risks and behavioural problems linked to children's diet.
'Hopefully, through these initiatives, we will encourage pupils to keep healthy and fit through what they eat and how they spend their time.'
She added more pupils were taking in fruit as a mid-morning snack and using small bottles of drinking water, which was known to have a positive effect on learning.
