Today’s Remembrance Day Services and Acts of Remembrance across Teignbridge include:

NEWTON ABBOT – The parade will set off from Courtenay Street at 10.30am and make its way down to the war memorial.

Chaplain the Rev Bruce Porter will offer prayers before the town’s MP Anne Marie Morris reads a scripture.

A two-minute silence will be held at 11am before the town’s mayor Ann Jones along with representatives from Teignbridge Council, the Royal British Legion and service organisations lay wreaths.

After the service the parade will march to the Royal British Legion club for refreshments.

ASHBURTON – A ceremony is being held at the war memorial from 10am before a parade leads the way to St Andrew’s Church for a service.

DAWLISH – A parade is meeting at Park Road near the Baptist Church and will set off at 2.45pm.

The parade, led by the Lympstone Town Band, will march to the war memorial where a short service and wreath laying will take place.

Another service at St Gregory’s Church will take place before a reception back at the Royal British Legion club.

STARCROSS – A church service will take place in St Paul’s at 10am before a march to the war memorial in the Strand.

Wreath laying and a two minute silence will take place at 11am.

KINGSTEIGNTON – A parade will set off from the Royal British Legion club at 9.15am to St Michael’s Church for a service.

After the service the parade will meet at the war memorial at 11am before heading back to the legion club for refreshments.

BOVEY TRACEY – St Paul, St Peter and St Thomas Church will be holding a service at 10am following a march from the Library car park.

After the service, the congregation will head to the war memorial in the town centre for a two minute silence and wreath laying.

IPPLEPEN – A service is being held in the village’s church at 10am before a parade marches to the war memorial at 10.50am

CHUDLEIGH – The parish church will be hosting a service at 10.45am before Lord Clifford leads a parade from the church to the war memorial for wreath laying and a two minutes silence.

KINGSKERSWELL – A service of remembrance will take place in the Church of St Mary at 10am before the attention moves to the war memorial in Fore Street for an act of remembrance at 11am.

The names of those from the village who lost their lives in the two world wars and more recent conflicts will be read out by chairman of the parish council Cllr Andrew Hartley.

Cllr Hartley will also lead the wreath laying.

WIDECOMBE – A two minute silence is being held on Saturday November 11 at the Widecombe Square under the auspices of Widecombe and Leusdon Churches. Everyone is invited to take part in the simple but poignant ceremony.

HOLNE – Members of the parish council will lay wreaths before a two minute silence and service in St Mary the Virgin on Sunday.

LEUSDON – A wreath laying ceremony will take place at Leusdon Memorial Hall at 10.30am before moving into St John the Baptist Church for a service.

POSTBRIDGE – St Gabriel’s Church will host a Remembrance Service at 6pm on November 12.

BICKINGTON – Steve Sheldon will lead the act of Remembrance in the village’s church from 10.15am on Sunday.

BUCKLAND – An afternoon service, led by Jeremy Howell, will take place in the village church from 3pm.

ASHCOMBE – Major Ranaulf Rayner will be taking a service at the village church from 10.45am.

LUTON – An evening service in Luton will take place at 6.30pm by the Rev Helen Bays.

BISHOPSTEIGNTON – A Remembrance Day service will take place in the village’s church from 10.30am on Sunday.

CHUDLEIGH KNIGHTON – The village’s 9.50am communion service will include an act of Remembrance on Sunday.

TRUSHAM – All those wanting to pay their respects can do so by congregating at the war memorial for a ceremony at 10.50am.

LUSTLEIGH – A service is being held at 10.55am in St John the Baptist on Sunday.

MANATON – At 10.55am on Sunday a service is being held in St Winifred’s Church.

ABBOTSKERSWELL – A service will be held at 11am in St Mary’s Church and wreath laying will also take place at the church.

ILSINGTON – A remembrance service is taking place in St Michael’s Church at 10am and another service will be held at Liverton Football Ground at 3pm. Both services are taking place on Sunday.
