TEIGNMOUTH'S new cop shop has come under fire for limited hours of business only days after it was officially opened by the chief constable.

The Wellington Street premises are closed on Sundays and Mondays and open from 8.30am to 2pm otherwise, which has been branded 'totally inadequate' by councillors.

'Is it for the public's convenience or the police's? It is less than shop opening hours,' Cllr Sylvia Russell told a town council meeting on Tuesday.
