A man has been arrested following incidents in Teignmouth and Dawlish last night (November 24).

Police were notified of reports of an assault in Dawlish and damage to a shop in Teignmouth where a window had been smashed.

Officers then received reports of a man having been assaulted on Second Avenue in Teignmouth. The victim did not attend hospital, and injuries are not believed to be serious.

Residents reported seeing a police presence in both towns, including a helicopter flying overhead.

‘A 27-year-old man from Teignmouth was identified in connection to these incidents and was arrested on suspicion of GBH, common assault and burglary and is in police custody,’ a spokesperson from Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed.
