Cllr Geoff Bladon, mayor of teignmouth, writes:
On the afternoon of Friday, March 31, there will be a blindfolded, sponsored walk along Teignmouth sea wall by myself and the mayoress, Linda.
We are looking for volunteers to get sponsored and join us on this sponsored blindfolded walk – interested, call me on 07889 825399.
I have chosen the registered charity Action for Blind People as my charity for 2005/06. We are trying to raise money to help fund the running costs of the Cliffden Hotel, which, in addition to all the good works it does with blind people, guide dogs etc, also provides holidays and much needed breaks locally and nationally for blind and partially sighted people. Action For Blind People has advised that all the monies raised will be put to good use solely in Teignmouth.
That Friday evening, Linda and I will host a charity gala dinner and reception in aid of Action For Blind People at the Cliffden Hotel. It will feature a cabaret appearance by talented young vocalist Ben Yates, as well as a charity auction
Tickets are available for this event at £20 each. Anyone who would like to support either or both of these events should contact the ticket line on 07889 825399 or 01626 775030. Alternatively email geoff@geoffbladon. com.
