A further 99 jobs could be cut at Newton Abbot engineering firm Centrax, it was announced this week.
The news comes just four months after the company made more than 50 of its staff redundant. In November, 46 hourly positions and eight staff positions were shed.
The recession is being blamed for the latest job cuts.
Tony Wiltshire, director of Turbine Components, said: 'Global economic conditions are hitting our market place particularly in the civil aerospace sector.'
Up to 70 hourly paid staff and 29 salaried staff in the Centrax Turbine Components Ltd could end up jobless.
A 30-day consultation period is now under way with representatives of its workforce.
'The redundancy programme should be completed by April 8,' said Mr Wiltshire.
Terry Keefe, regional officer for Unite commented: 'The business is just not coming in. They have tried to be patient, but action now has to be taken. It is always sad to lose jobs and it is disappointing for any company to make staff redundant.
'It is still a big employer in the area and we hope work picks up soon.
'Everyone is feeling the pinch at the moment and business is slow for a lot of firms.'
The Centrax group currently has a workforce of 808, which has a gas turbine division and turbine components division.
It manufactures parts for gas turbines for civil and military aerospace industry and industrial gas turbines.
