SUPPORT for Teignmouth Action Group has swelled to several hundred people in the past two weeks.
The opposition group has been battling to inform Teignmouth residents about possible development at Teignmouth Quay and the numbers boost comes after an a newspaper advertisement that invited residents to lodge their opinions.
TAG member Bob shaw said: 'Support for our opposition group is growing daily from just a handful a week or so ago, to several hundred to date. There has also been a small number of offers of financial assistance.'
The TAG believe that the Teignmouth Quays Harbour Revision Order should have been advertised to the advantage of Teignmouth residents rather than in a local evening newspaper.
Mr Shaw said: 'Had Mr Greenwell advertised his Harbour Revision Order in a newspaper likely to be seen by a substantial number of the people of Teignmouth, then his professed desire to obtain the opinions of the people of Teignmouth might have been more believable.'
Mr Shaw states that the proposed extension at Polly Steps will not accommodate 24 car parking spaces, despite the size of the extension increasing from earlier suggestions by Teignmouth port manager Colin Greenwell.
