Volunteers restoring Teignmouth Cemetery have placed hand-knitted poppies on 49 Commonwealth War Graves in a moving tribute for Remembrance Day.
The poppies, which were also placed on the noticeboard, have been crafted by friends and supporters of Friends of Teignmouth Cemetery.
The group, which cares for Teignmouth Old Cemetery throughout the year, runs work sessions on Tuesday and Saturday mornings and always welcomes volunteers to join them.
‘The Friends are dedicated to restoring the cemetery sympathetically, preserving it as a peaceful green space for everyone to enjoy. Their efforts support local biodiversity; helping wildflowers flourish and creating a haven for wildlife and people alike,’ a spokesperson from Teignbridge District Council commented.
