TEIGNMOUTH Post columnist Viv Wilson is the new president of Teignmouth and Shaldon Museum.

She declared: 'Many years of endeavour and faithful service has brought Teignmouth a superb new museum. It is something to be proud of and I hope local people will take it to their hearts by volunteering, visiting and bringing others with them, and particularly by joining Teignmouth and Shaldon Historical Society.

A local historian, whose weekly nostalgia column in the Post is widely followed, Ms Wilson pointed out that much as the former museum was revered, its lack of accessibility fell foul of new legislation, and could not be carried on indefinitely.<
