AVERAGE rents in Teignbridge have increased by 8% this year, according to the latest data released by Zoopla. 

The estate agent looks at average rental figures in January each year to spot trends. 

In 2023, Teignbridge’s average rent was £894, up from £828 in 2022, £774 in 2021 and £727 in 2020.

Mid Devon saw a 2.9% increase, while Exeter saw a 6.1% increase and South Hams 3.7%. 

Over the country, the number of homes available to rent in the UK has fallen by over a third over the past six months, pushing rents up by 11%.
