BOLLARDS, fencing, bunding and other physical barriers are set to be installed at locations across Teignbridge in a bid to reduce the number of unauthorised encampments.
Councillors voted unanimously to approve a range of new measures to reduce the number and impact of unauthorised encampments across the district in a meeting on July 29.
The following parks have been identified for initial works: Bakers Park; Courtenay Park; Dawlish Countryside Park; Forde Park; Osborne Park and Sandringham Park.
‘The measures are being put in place as part of the council’s commitment to protecting public spaces and supporting community wellbeing’, says Teignbridge District Council.
So far this year, there have been several encampments in and around Newton Abbot.
Osbourne Park, for example, has seen four separate encampments.
