BARTON Surgery's lead practice nurse has qualified as a nurse prescriber after many months of study. Katy Hill will now be able to use her new skills within the Dawlish surgery, helping to free up doctors' time. The qualification means she can now prescribe a range of medication to specific patients. The training takes six to nine months. Janine Payne, locality manager at Barton Surgery, said: 'Now that Katy can prescribe more, it will mean that she can see patients and free up GPs.'
