Eleven people in Newton Abbot received a late Christmas present on Boxing Day after winning £1,000 each thanks to their postcode.

The Holbeam Close neighbours landed the windfall when TQ12 1UT was announced as a People’s Postcode Lottery Daily Prize winner.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson sent his congratulations and said: ’What a lovely surprise for our winners. I hope they have had a great festive period and I’m sure this news has made it even more special!’

A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised over £600 million to date for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.

This draw was promoted on behalf of Crisis which has received more than £5.7 million in funding thanks to players.

The charity is dedicated to ending homelessness and throughout the year helps approximately 10,000 people in England, Scotland and Wales.

Many good causes close to the winners have also benefitted from players’ support, and local charities can apply for funding next year.
