MORE time has been agreed to decide whether six new homes can be built in Ogwell.

An Extension of Time (EOT) has been agreed for the planning application for land at Canada Hill, pictured, meaning a decision will now not be expected until November.

The application, submitted by Kingsdart Projects Pension Trust, seeks permission for six detached dwellings, access and landscaping on the site, which lies just off Ogwell Road on the western edge of the village.

The application, reference 26/00945/FUL, had originally been due to be determined in August.

The proposed development would see the currently undeveloped and largely overgrown site transformed with six modern-style homes and a new access road running through the centre of the land.

The applicant’s design and access statement describes the existing site as an open area of grass and scrub, with small trees mainly around its perimeter.

However, the proposals have attracted opposition from Ogwell Parish Council and local residents.

The parish council has raised concerns about highway safety, drainage and lighting, as well as the potential impact of the development on local wildlife.

The agreed EOT gives the planning authority additional time to consider the application and the issues raised before a decision is made.

A decision is now expected by November 11, unless a further extension is agreed or the application is determined sooner.
