VICAR Simon Croft and his wife Shirley are getting in gear for a charity challenge on two wheels.
Simon, from St Gregory's Parish Church, Dawlish, and his wife are planning a 90-mile cycle ride to raise funds for Christian Aid.
They plan to set off from Plymouth after the 9.30am service at St Gregory's on Sunday, May 15, and hope to complete their epic journey at Instow Quay at noon on Tuesday, May 17.
Simon explained: 'Shirley and I both enjoy cycling and although this is quite a challenge, we are pleased to support the important Christian Aid week in this way.'
All the churches in Dawlish are taking part in Christian Aid week, which runs from May 15 to May 21.
It is hoped to raise significant funds to help people in need in the UK and throughout the world.
As well as Simon and Shirley's cycle ride, there will be other fundraising events in the town, including a house to house collection.
Sponsorship forms for the ride and Christian Aid envelopes are available from all churches participating in the event including St Gregory's, the United Reformed Church and Methodist Church in Dawlish, St Mary's at Cofton, St Paul's in Starcross and Kenton Church.
Alternatively, they can be obtained direct from Geoff Wilson on 01626 862089 or email [email protected]">[email protected].
