TWO motorists accused of causing the death of a man by careless/inconsiderate driving in Newton Abbot have been rebailed by police.

The pair - one aged 58 and from Newton Abbot and the other a 52-year-old Torquay man - were arrested after the death of Paignton pedestrian Gareth Toms on the Torquay Road near its junction with Aller Brake Road in July.

A police spokesman confirmed on Tuesday that the men would answer their new bail date on January 13 next year.

Mr Toms, also known as Frank Hunter, died at the scene.
