A PROPOSAL to build new homes at land in a village on the outskirts of Newton Abbot has been submitted to planners.

Submitted by Ashgrove Ipplepen Limited, the application - reference 26/00369/PIP - is seeking to obtain ‘Permission in Principle’ for four houses at land at Tremlett Grove.

Teignbridge Council are due to make a decision by April 29.

Suitable for developments of between one and nine dwellings, permission in principle is an alternative way of obtaining planning permission for housing-led development.

If granted, an additional ‘Technical Details Consent’, which is submitted as a full planning application, but with specific reference to the ‘Permission in Principle’ consent, is also required before development can commence.
