TREATMENT in America is the last hope for a Bishopsteigton teenager suffering from a rare form of cancer.
A hospital in Washington DC has offered to give Teignmouth community college sixth former Jasmine Flay, 16, pioneering medicine free of charge, but her family are still faced with large bills for flights and accommodation.
Now a campaign, backed by this newspaper, has been launched to try and raise at least £10,000 so she can quickly be treated for multiple endocrine neoplasia.
She has a tumour in her windpipe, and UK specialists say they can do no more for her.
'Jasmine had an operation in Sheffield in May, and it did not work. It left her very poorly and she had to spend six days in intensive care,' said mum Angie Beeks.
