A PAIR of plaques have been affixed to two buildings in Kingsteignton, affirming the ongoing relationship between the town council and two charities.

The unveiling, which took place on Saturday, February 24, saw mayor of Kingsteignton, Cllr Ron Peart, first attend the town’s youth centre.

Accompanied by fellow councillors Julie Scagell and Martin Field, the mayor, who is also the Chairman of Kingsteignton Youth Centre, unveiled the plaque with charity trustees Beryl Austen, Sue and Dave Rollason.

A plaque was also unveiled at the town’s outdoor swimming pool, where Chairman Clair Parker was present.

The plaques have been mounted outside of both venues to mark the association between the organisations, which are both registered charities, and the town council, who give financial support to ensure these  facilities are retained for the people of Kingsteignton.

‘Kingsteignton Youth Centre is a great venue for hosting parties, meetings, clubs and social get-togethers as well as offering two weekly youth club sessions for youngsters aged between eight and 18 years old.’ a spokesperson for Kingsteignton Town council said.
