Teignbridge police are tightening procedures on suicide cases after lapses were highlighted following a complaint.

In a separate case, they have also admitted shortcomings in their investigation of an unexplained death.

When Bovey Tracey man 41-year-old Gary Neal took his own life last November, his body was found in his van at Little Haldon.

Next of kin, brother Paul Neal, from Dawlish, has described as 'absolutely disgraceful' the length of time it took police to inform him.
