WHILE Labour’s Julie Elliott held Sunderland Central with 25,056 votes against the Conservative Robert Oliver’s 15,059, showing a 9,997 majority, the UKIP vote collapsed
Overall the Labour vote was 5 per cent up while the Tory vote jumped by 10 per cent, it appeared the lost UKIP votes were mainly going to the Tories.
