Newton Abbot MP Anne Marie Morris welcomed the Prime Minister’s announcement that she will seek a General Election on June 8.
’It is right to seek a mandate to deliver Brexit and re-establish a programme for government drafted by our current Prime Minister,’ she said.
‘We need to be a united Great Britain when we approach the negotiations with the European Union, with strong and stable leadership at home that is not tainted by uncertainty.’
And she declared to her constituents directly that she was ready for a fight at the polls.
‘Locally, I would very much like to be standing again as the Conservative candidate, fighting hard on the crucial issues that are so important to our area and that I care so deeply about.
‘We have made great progress since 2015 - and I look forward to continuing that work should you elect me to do so.’
