AN official investigation into the capsizing of the Teignmouth trawler Girl Rona is now under way.
The Coastguard and Maritime Agency confirmed it would be holding an inquiry into the exact circumstances as to how the fishing boat toppled over while coming into the estuary with a catch last week.
The five crew were rescued unharmed.
'Our inspector will be speaking to the owner, Buster Boyne, to try and establish just what went wrong,' said Fred Caygill, the agency press officer.
'He is a highly experienced man, and it maybe that it was just an unfortunate accident – the sea is very unforgiving. But we are duty bound to investigate any such incident involving a commercial vessel and check if any regulations have been broken.
