Teignmouth residents can enjoy the pomp and circumstance of the Last Night of the Proms with a picnic in Bitton Park next month.

The free event will feature a large screen streaming the performances live from London’s Royal Albert Hall.

‘Teignmouth Town Council is thrilled to host Proms in the Park this year, taking place on Saturday September 13 in Bitton Park,’ said Teignmouth mayor councillor Cate Williams.

In the event of bad weather, ticket-holders will be able to enjoy the event from inside Bitton House. However, as space as limited inside the building, residents are urged to book tickets at www.teignmouth-devon.co.uk soon.

Refreshments will be on sale but picnics are also encouraged, although glass containers are not permitted. Pet dogs are welcome on leads.

Gates open from 5.30pm with the concert expected to finish by 10.30pm.
