WORK has started on a £2.5 million project to create employment space and boost Teignmouth's economic fortunes.

Teignbridge Council is funding a new business park on the town's Broadmeadow Industrial Estate.

The new employment units, built by SWH Build, will be aimed at start-ups and existing businesses which want to relocate or expand their firms, attracting new jobs to Teignmouth and safeguarding established ones.

Teignmouth mayor Cllr Dave Matthews said: 'It's fantastic to see Teignbridge Council helping people to achieve their business aspirations and I'm sure it will bring more jobs and opportunities to the area.
