A TEA party at Kingsteignton’s Rydon Primary School raised money for cancer charities.

Eight pupils organised the party for the school’s grandparents. They raised £81 for charity.

Headteacher Nick Banwell said: ‘The idea came from the children and they saw the project through from start to finish, from the advertising to the washing up.

‘The event was a great success with lots of guests. The children were very impressive throughout – very professional and enthusiastic.

‘This party was part of the “pride of Rydon” initiative which encourages children to take on challenges and responsibilities.’ORDER YOUR DIGITAL EDITION HERE
