THE bell-ringers of St Michael's Church, Teignmouth made a celebratory quarter peal to commemorate the Queen's 80th birthday on Friday. The quarter peal, played on six of the newly-restored bells, was made up of 1,260 changes of Grandsire Doubles. It took 51 minutes to complete. The ringers were Janet Clutterbuck, Fiona Rock Evans, Alan Furse, David Robertson, Martin Dodd and Norman Maudsley.
