SUNDAY'S Boyzone and Alesha Dixon concert at Newton Abbot Racecourse will not only provide the area's music lovers with the biggest draw of its kind since Muse played Teignmouth seafront in 2009, it could also signal a new direction for the sporting venue.

For if the event proves to be a hit then more big name acts could follow in their footsteps.

Interest in the gig has been 'overwhelming' according to racecourse managing director Pat Masterson, with 7,000 fans expected to travel from far and wide to see their idols perform.
