Buckfastleigh Post Office has risen like a phoenix from the ashes after a ram raid which destroyed the shop front three months ago left the owner with a £40,000 bill.

It will open its doors for the first time on Monday since the incident.

At the beginning of July, a stolen Land Rover was driven through the historic Fore Street shop front.

A wire rope was used to attach to the cash machine which was then dragged from its floor mountings and into the road.

Both the vehicle and the machine were abandoned.
