AN incredible £3,406 has been raised by the Children in Need fundraising at Gatehouse Primary Academy in Dawlish, ‘smashing’ their previous best.

Mr Jason Stephens, Acting Head of School, said: ‘Children came into school wearing spots for Pudsey, we saw some excellent outfits in school today so well done everyone!

‘This year, we signed up to RunPudsey 2022, an online sponsored fun run.

‘The response to this was phenomenal.

‘Miss Tomlinson set up a route around the school and each year group completed a different distance.

‘A big well done to the sports leaders for being super helpful and marshalling every fun run, and for cheering on all of the children.

‘Great work everyone.

‘Some children raised over £100, which is truly incredible. Well done to everyone at Gatehouse for an amazing event.

EYFS ran 0.35km

Year 1 and 2 ran 0.7km,

Year 3 and 4 ran 1.1km

Year 5 and 6 ran 1.4km

325.8km run in total!

‘A huge thank you to our Gatehouse Community: friends family, and pupils who have been raising money for Children in need, added Mr Stephens.

‘We have smashed all previous records! raising more this year alone than the last five combined and more in this event than all charitable events last year combined!

‘So thank you as it is a truly worthy cause which supports many many children and when the children watch Children in Need on the TV, they will know Gatehouse have more than played their part in the fundraising.’
