ONE Teignbridge councillor has taken it upon himself to tackle the ever-growing, frustrating problem of dog fouling in Newton Abbot.
Tory councillor Reg Winsor, who firmly believes actions speak louder than words, was approached by residents in Buckland and Milber about the problems caused by dog owners not clearing up after their four-legged friends.
He found and refurbished an old waste bin and arranged for Teignbridge Council to include it on its regular collections.
Fellow Conservative councillor Kevin Lake joined forces with Cllr Winsor to make sure the bin was correctly located and included in collections.
Cllr Winsor said: ‘No one likes putting their foot in dog mess and a fast response to the problem was essential.
‘So rather than just moan about the issue Kevin and I acted and have been able to give the area a solution.’
