ARCHAEOLOGISTS have uncovered the remains of a medieval building in the grounds of a Dartmoor primary school.
St Mary's, in Buckfast, is situated in what was the outer court of medieval Buckfast Abbey, and while work was under way building a new playground, the Dartmoor National Park Authority instructed archaeologists to keep a watch on the site as it could be historically sensitive.
It was already known that the school site included part of the boundary of the 13th century outer court.
