Towns and villages across the district will remember the service and sacrifice of all who have served our country on Remembrance Day, which falls on Sunday November 9 2025.
Many towns will also hold a ceremony to mark Armistice Day on Tuesday November 11.
Here are details of remembrance services and parades near you:
ASHCOMBE
Sunday November 9 - Remembrance service at the war memorial at 10:50am followed by refreshments at the village club.
ASHBURTON
Sunday November 9 - The remembrance day parade starts at 9:45am with a ceremony at the war memorial followed by a remembrance service at St Andrew’s Church at 10:45am.
Tuesday November 11 - A minute’s silence will be observed outside Ashburton Town Hall at 11am.
BICKINGTON
Sunday November 9 - Remembrance service at St Mary the Virgin Church at 10:45am.
BISHOPSTEIGNTON
Sunday November 9 - Civic service at Bishopsteignton war memorial from 10:45am.
BOVEY TRACEY
Sunday November 9 - A service of remembrance at the church of St Peter, St Paul and St Thomas at 10am followed by a parade to the war memorial for the laying of wreaths.
BUCKLAND-IN-THE-MOOR
Sunday November 9 - A Service of remembrance at 3pm at St Peter’s Church.
CHAGFORD
Sunday November 9 - Wreaths will be laid at the war memorial at 10:45am followed by a remembrance service in St Michael the Archangel church.
CHUDLEIGH
Saturday November 8 - An evening of poems and songs at Chudleigh Parish Church from 7:30pm.
Sunday November 9 - A service at Chudleigh Parish Church from10:45 followed by an act of remembrance at Chudleigh war memorial at 12pm.
Tuesday November 11 - Act of remembrance at Chudleigh war memorial will take place at 11am
CHUDLEIGH KNIGHTON
Sunday November 9 - A service of remembrance at St Paul’s Church at 10:45am
DAWLISH
Sunday November 9 - A procession will leave the Baptist Church on Park Street at 2:40pm and parade to the war memorial for a remembrance service at 3pm.
Tuesday November 11 - Dawlish Town Council and the Dawlish Branch of the Royal British Legion will hold a two minute silence at the Poppy Wall at 11am.
ILSINGTON
Sunday November 9 - Remembrance service at St Michael’s Church at 10:30am.
KINGSKERSWELL
Sunday November 9 - Remembrance service at St Mary’s Church at 10:15am.
KINGSTEIGNTON
Sunday November 9 - Annual civic remembrance event. A parade will commence from the Royal British Legion in Longford Lane at 9:30am to arrive at St Michael’s Church for a service at 10am. The service of remembrance will then move outside to the war memorial for readings ,the laying of wreaths and the last post in time for 11am.
LUSTLEIGH
Sunday November 9 A Remembrance service will take place at the war memorial at 10:50am.
MORETONHAMPSTEAD
Sunday November 9 - A remembrance service starts at 2:45 at the war memorial followed by a service at St Andrew’s Parish Church at 3pm.
NEWTON ABBOT
Sunday November 9 - The Devonport Royal Naval Volunteer Band will lead a procession through the town from 10.35 followed by a service at the war memorial at 10.45am.
Tuesday November 11 - A short service of remembrance will take place at the war memorial at 10.45am
SHALDON
Sunday November 9 - Remembrance Service at the war memorial from 10:45am with refreshments provided by the River Teign Scouts afterwards.
Tuesday November 11 - Two minutes silence at the war memorial at 11am.
STARCROSS
Sunday November 9 - There will be a service of remembrance at St Paul’s Church at 10am followed by an act of remembrance at Starcross war memorial at 10:45am.
TEIGNMOUTH
Sunday November 9 The remembrance service and parade starts at 10:45 at the War Memorial. At 12:30pm the Alice Cross Centre will hold a remembrance sunday lunch. Guests can share a meal and honour the spirit of remembrance sunday in the company of friends, family and the community. Cost £12 for a two-course lunch and entertainment. Booking essential as space is limited.
Tuesday November 11 - The mayor, councillors and representatives from the armed services will gather in Teignmouth Triangle at 10:45 for a short remembrance ceremony and two minutes’ silence.
WIDECOMBE-IN-THE-MOOR
Sunday November 9 - Remembrance service at St Pancras Church at 10:30am.
