THE battery of a remote controlled car is believed to have caused a fire at a home in Teignmouth yesterday (Friday).
A spokesperson for the Devon and Somerset Fire Service said: ‘Two fire appliances from Teignmouth attended a fire in a domestic property which started in the kitchen involving a remote control car battery.
‘Crews removed the battery to open air and ventilated the property.
‘The cause of the incident is believed to be accidental.’
