Dawlish Rep could set up a youth section based at the Shaftesbury Theatre. Its aim would be give young people the chance to develop theatre interests such as lighting, wardrobe and, of course, acting. Rep spokesman John O'Donoghue said: 'We are appealing to anyone out there who might like to be in at the beginning and play a part in its formation. 'Volunteers need not have been involved in theatre before, but they must have a genuine desire to work with and support the young people the project is aimed at in a practical and committed way.' It is hoped to get the show on the road by Easter and an open meeting is scheduled for 7.30pm on Monday, January 22, in the theatre's Maysam Room. Prospective members could also visit the theatre from today until next Saturday while the pantomime Cinderella is staged and talk to Rep members. Ask for Marilyn Brimacombe. Mr O'Donoghue said: 'Basically, we hope to offer a limited number of places to young people between the ages of 12 and 18 who would like to experience the numerous facets of life connected with theatre. 'We hope to explore, examine and develop any area in which they might have an interest through workshops, reviews, stagecraft, practical sessions, elocution and articulation, technical areas and the actual production and presentation of work for public audiences.
